Hide n Seek
I always thought Hide and Seek was a child’s game. I
finally found use for the skills I developed playing that child’s game as an
adult. We were asked to serve a summons and complaint to an attorney in a gated
apartment.
The first few attempts failed because no one answered the phone and
we could not gain entry into the building. On the fourth attempt, again no one
answered the phone. However, one of the residences opened the door and allowed me
to enter the building. I took the elevator to the 6th floor and found
the correct apartment number.
I knocked on the door several times. Finally, I
saw the light through the eye piece change to dark. I knew someone was home. I
did not know who, but someone was home. I wanted to ensure that our skip trace
was correct, so I called the home phone listed for the person. Bingo, I heard
the phone ring and I heard the voice message playing on the phone through the
door.
